Fort Kent, Maine is lucky enough to be the location of two prime skiing locations.

The 10th Mountain SKi Lodge was a host fo the 2004 Biathlon World Cup. Athletes from all over the world descended on Fort Kent, just on the Canadian border for several weeks of skiing competition on the 10th Mountain's expertly groomed trails. Since then, the lodge and extensive trail system have been open to the public year-round. A snow groomer lays down a cross-country skiing track for both skate and traditional skiing disciplines. There is also a paved loop through the woods, ideal for roller-skiing.

Also in Fort Kent, Maine one can enjoy a downhill skiing experience at Lonesome Pine Trails. Skis and equipment rentals are available at the foot of the mountain, which offers chair lift service to the top for an exhilarating ride down.
